Gardener / Estate Worker with Horse Care Duties- nr Dereham, Norfolk- RR1975

An exciting opportunity has become available for a reliable and skilled Gardener / Estate Worker to join a friendly and well-established team on a beautiful 40-acre private estate near Dereham, Norfolk.

This is a live-out role, 40 hours a week, ideal for someone local who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is confident around horses.

Key Responsibilities:

• General estate and grounds maintenance (mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, weeding)
• Paddock care – topping, fertilising, harrowing, basic grassland management
• Gallop and ménage maintenance
• Basic repairs and upkeep – fencing, gates, driveways, gutter clearance etc
• Occasional help with horses – turning in/out, holding for farrier, assisting the groom
• Driving and maintaining small tractors and estate machinery
• Ensuring the property and yard areas remain clean, tidy, and secure

The Ideal Candidate:

• Hands-on and proactive with a good level of physical fitness
• Competent with garden machinery and small tractors
• Some equine experience is essential – confident and calm around horses, or not afraid of them at least
• Practical and able to carry out basic DIY tasks and repairs
• Trustworthy, organised, and happy working as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence required
• Well referenced in a similar role / setting
• Happy to have a DBS check obtained before starting

Details:

• Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
• Live-out position – must be based within commuting distance of Dereham, Norfolk
• Beautiful working environment with top-class facilities and equipment
• Supportive long-term staff on site – this is not an isolated role
