Proven Operations Manager required for successful, Bird, Fume & Pest Control business based in Bury St Edmunds.  The firm is now an industry leading company, with a prevention-first ethos and a reputation for building longstanding client relationships.
This role would be ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, excels at spinning multiple plates, and earns respect by getting things done. The role would suit someone who enjoys variety and can confidently lead a strong team. No two days are the same so the person must enjoy working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

This isn’t just a desk job. You’ll be at the centre of day-to-day operations, working closely with a team of around 30 people across the regions – including a large number of field technicians. It’s a key leadership role where you’ll be responsible for making sure the operation runs smoothly, teams are performing at their best, and customers get the high standards they expect. It combines the structure of office-based work with the variety and challenge of managing a busy, responsive operation.

The Role:

• Full operational oversight of Bird, Fume & Pest departments across the East & Midlands regions
• Managing, motivating, and mentoring field teams — ensuring service excellence
• Scheduling, resource planning, RAMs, reporting, and system oversight
• Client liaison, issue resolution, and ensuring people are in the right place, on time
• Upholding and auditing health & safety, including COSHH compliance
• Monitoring KPIs and driving performance and cost efficiency
• Contributing to innovation, process improvement, and future growth

The requirements:

• Experienced in a senior operational role (this is not a trainee position)
• An expert multitasker with sharp organisation and problem-solving skills
• Calm under pressure, confident managing large teams and big personalities
• Commercially aware with experience in budgeting and client-facing roles
• Familiar with field service systems/CRMs and strong on reporting/data
• Willing to travel frequently between regional sites (vehicle provided)
• Genuinely passionate about operational excellence and high standards

Package & Details:

• Company vehicle, laptop, and phone
• 45 hours/week (flexible 9-hour days)
• 20 days holiday + bank holidays
• Based across East & Midlands — regional travel required
• Supportive leadership
• Opportunity to shape and grow a newly created leadership role

This is an essential role for our client, and we’re looking for someone equally capable. If you are resilient, sharp, and passionate about doing things properly — then we would love to hear from you.
