The maintenance manager at Forest Park will lead the maintenance team (approx. 8 staff) and be responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating of their activities. It is essential that the manager prioritises health and safety compliance in every aspect of the role, encompassing safe working systems and procedures and building on the existing health and safety culture. A practiced eye for detail in the management of the maintenance yard and the park’s assets is also essential.
The manager will have the ability to drive a team through a passion for excellence. They will have a key accountability to ensure the park’s appearance, to ensure that first impressions are second to none and that no detail is forgotten. The manager will be required to review existing processes and standards of working in order to fully optimise their resources and to ensure maximum efficiency in all areas.
The manager will be part of the HOD (Head’s of Department) team and will be accountable for ensuring excellent working relationships with all colleagues and an open management approach.
Key Responsibilities
• To ensure that the maintenance team and Forest Park comply with all company health and safety policies and legislated regulations.
• To have a constant focus on safety and risk assessments to improve the operation of the business with a key focus on refining and implementing our standardised processes and procedures.
• To provide clear, consistent and focused leadership for the maintenance team.
• To provide ongoing mentoring, training and development to the team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to meet their key goals and maximise efficiencies.
• To focus on consistent improvements to the team’s workflow.
• To establish procedures for stock control and asset registers within the maintenance yard and to ensure the safe storage of essential materials and assets.
• To keep up with industry trends, innovations and improved working practices.
Essential Qualifications and requirements
• Previous experience of managing a team, motivating them and directing them to perform at the highest levels; utilising their individual skills and knowledge to full effect.
• An advanced understanding of the recommendations and guidance around the management of risk.
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with customers on the park, suppliers, contractors etc.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Possession of a current, clean, and valid driving license.
• Possession of the certification for the use of the park’s heavy machines and vehicles.

Reporting Line
• This role reports to the General Manager of Forest Park.
Working conditions
• This is a full-time role. Hours of work are 40 per week. They will at all times respect the requirement to provide continuity in your working week.
• 28 days holiday per year.

7 days a week, total of 40 hours during peak times with 2 days off on a rota system.
