Housekeeper. Chelmsford

 Full Time Experienced Live In Housekeeper required for private, country house located on a beautiful estate approx 9 miles north of Chelmsford, Essex. We are looking for a reliable, proactive person to join the household with the experience to manage the housekeeping to a very high standard. This is a hands on role requiring attention to detail and the ability to manage guest readiness for occasional weekend shoot parties and dinner parties.

There could be work on the estate for a partner depending on skills etc.

Key responsibilities:

• Hands on housework assisted by 2 other cleaners
• Preparing bedrooms for guests
• Supporting occasional family lunches and/or suppers
• Assisting with small dinner/lunch parties and cooking for the freezer
• Ensuring the home is ready for entertaining during guest weekends ( approx 6 in winter and occasionally in summer )
• Carrying out laundry, ironing and sewing
• Taking linens to dry cleaners
• Laying tables for meals and clearing away- waitressing at times
• Restocking fridges and keeping pantry fully stocked
• Polishing silver
• Greeting guests
• Dog walking
• Occasional driving for the family-airport run

The Person:

• Reliable, trustworthy with a great work ethic
• Polite, discrete, well presented and really lovely to have around
• An experienced hands on housekeeper who takes a pride in their work with a good eye for the finer detail
• Flexible and happy to help when needed
• Experienced in laundry, ironing, antiques and specialist fabric care
• A car driver with a full, clean UK licence
• Will have an in date DBS or happy to apply for one
• Will have at least 3 years private household experience
• Animal friendly
• A basic cook who can provide small family meals
