A lovely, small and private family estate near Wood Dalling, Norfolk is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Grounds & Garden Maintenance Person to help care for and enhance their 3.5-acre plot, which includes a 2-acre paddock.

This is a part-time role (2 days per week, potentially increasing to 3 days next year in line with the additional work), ideal for someone with a strong background in horticulture and estate maintenance who takes real pride in keeping gardens looking their best year-round. The household is warm, welcoming, and looking for someone reliable, professional, and easy to get along with.

Hours / days:

• 2 full days per week

About the Role:

While the homeowner manages the lawn mowing, the key focus of this role is maintaining the garden and grounds to a high standard, including:

• Flower bed care – weeding, pruning, trimming, seasonal planting, restocking where needed
• Hedge trimming and shaping
• General garden upkeep – tidiness, composting, waste management
• Basic grounds tasks – strimming, light clearing, sweeping paths and patios
• Occasional help with logs, gutters, or bins, as needed
• Jet washing terraces periodically

Looking Ahead:

In 2026, the family hopes to develop a kitchen garden with a greenhouse and approximately six large vegetable beds. The ideal candidate would be excited to plant, maintain, and manage this space once it is built, taking ownership of the project and ensuring it’s productivity through the seasons. They are also planning to add a terrace off of the kitchen, which has already been started. This will consist of both pots and beds and need planting up in 2026.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced gardener or grounds person with excellent plant knowledge
• Skilled in flower bed maintenance, pruning, and hedge trimming
• Self-motivated, trustworthy, and able to work independently
• Practical, organised, and happy working outdoors year-round
• Friendly and professional, with an eye for detail
• Enthusiastic about future garden development projects

The role:

• Part-time role, 2 days per week (flexible days/hours)
• Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience
• Long-term, stable opportunity within a kind and respectful household
• Beautiful working environment with potential for creative input

To Apply:

Please send your CV and a short introduction outlining your relevant gardening experience and availability. If you are also able to include a handful of images that showcase your work / gardening ability it would be an added bonus.
