Housekeeper/Companion

Full/part time Housekeeper/Companion required for family with 9 bedroom country house located close to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

This can be 4 full days a week - Friday to Monday inclusive.

The family comprises Husband and Wife, 4 boys ( 2 at uni and 2 at boarding school) and an elderly relative who lives in a separate cottage on site.

We are looking for a reliable, organised person  with very high standards to carry out a variety of roles, mainly keeping the house in excellent order. The position will include the following:

• All housework to the highest standard
• Laundry and ironing ( Being very organised to make sure the clothes are returned to the correct bedrooms/wardrobes )
• Simple cooking/preparation for the elderly family member
• General tidying
• Polishing silver
• Changing bed linen
• Fine furniture and antique care
• Keeping control of stock - cleaning products etc
• Taking delivery of items
• Spending time as a companion-conversation and maybe walking in the garden
• Feeding pets ( 1 dog and 2 cats )
• Keeping the terrace and garden furniture clean during the summer
• General housekeeping/house management/house organisation 

The Person will be:

• Reliable, organised, caring with an easy to get along with personality
• Polite and well presented
• Very experienced in high standard housekeeping, laundry and ironing
• Happy to cook healthy, simple meals
• Kind and understanding and enjoy spending time with the older generation
• Animal and child friendly
• A car driver with a full UK licence
• A non smoker
• Fit and Active
• Able to provide fully checkable references and an in date DBS
