Housekeeper / Groom- Ad hoc, Freelance

A lovely ad hoc, part-time position is available for a Housekeeper / Groom to join a wonderful family based near Hingham, Norfolk. This varied and rewarding role combines caring for a small number of horses (maximum 10) with keeping the family’s four (1-bedroom) holiday lets in immaculate condition for their guests.

The ideal person will be local, flexible with days and hours (to suit peak and quiet times), and enjoy the variety of working both in beautiful holiday properties and on a well-kept yard.

As an added bonus, there is a spare stable available, so the family is happy for the right person to bring their own horse and keep it in livery there as part of the package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Housekeeping (Holiday Lets)
• Carry out all cleaning and housekeeping to a high standard
• Change beds, clean kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms
• Hoovering, mopping, dusting and polishing
• Laundry and linen management
• Present the lets beautifully for guests, ensuring every detail is perfect

Groom / Yard Duties

• Mucking out stables and keeping yard swept and tidy
• Feeding horses, preparing hay nets and water
• Turning mares and foals in and out of the field
• No riding or grooming – purely stable and yard work
• Occasional house / pet sitting

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have high housekeeping standards with an eye for detail
• Be confident and competent around horses
• Enjoy working in a varied, hands-on role
• Live locally to Hingham, Norfolk
• Be happy to work on a part-time, ad hoc, freelance basis
• Have glowing references and be willing to have a DBS check completed before starting

This is a permanent, self employed,  position offering flexible hours, a good hourly rate, and the chance to work with a genuinely lovely family in a beautiful rural setting.
