  • Managing calving and assisting with any birthing issues

  • Keeping accurate records of health, breeding, feed, and medication
  • Administering medications and vaccinations as required
  • Maintaining cleanliness of housing, sheds, and feeding areas
  • Checking and repairing fencing and pasture boundaries
  • Coordinating with vets, nutritionists, and suppliers when needed
  • Ensuring compliance with DEFRA regulations and farm assurance schemes

Daily Duties Checklist:

  •  Provide feed (including hay, silage, or specialist Wagyu feed as required)
  •  Check and refresh water troughs
  •  Clean out bedding areas (as needed)
  •  Inspect fencing, gates, and enclosures
  •  Monitor condition scores and record health observations
  •  Assist with calving (seasonal)
  •  Update livestock records
  •  Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly
  •  Afternoon/evening welfare check and secure animals for the night

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with cattle, ideally pedigree or premium breeds
  • Knowledge of Wagyu or high-welfare beef production is a bonus
  • Confident handling livestock, including bulls and calving cows
  • Practical skills in fencing, minor maintenance, and basic machinery operation
  • Good record keeping and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Full UK driving licence (trailer licence desirable)

Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Accommodation available (optional)
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Work vehicle provided for on-farm use
