JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Property Maintenance Assistant to join the team within this 4000 acre rural Estate which was founded in 1619 and encompasses agriculture, forestry and property. The Estate lets 40 residential properties, eight offices converted from stone barns and various other commercial enterprises including two holiday lets

We are looking for a full-time maintenance assistant to work with the Estate Clerk of Works (and the Estate Foreman).

Responsibilities of the Role

• General maintenance and repairs of all residential and commercial properties on the Estate.

• General plumbing, carpentry, plastering and decoration work

• Groundworks including chainsaw work, spraying, mowing, low-level tree work

• Responding to emergency tasks on the Estate

• Identify and reporting problems and repairs required

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in estate maintenance

• Good practical workshop and carpentry skills

• Chainsaw licence, PA1 & PA6 certificates desirable but not essential (training provided if

required)

• Understanding of electrical, plumbing and heating systems

• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment

• Good knowledge of property care and health and safety in the workplace

• Clean driving licence and right to work in the UK

• Practical, sensible, and takes pride in keeping the estate in excellent condition

• Discreet and respectful

Salary: £15-£16 per hour depending on experience

Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am -3pm)
