Super opportunity for a live in Housekeeper or couple

A super opportunity for a live in housekeeper with a cheerful attitude and willing work ethic has arisen to join a lovely, busy family of 5 on a part-time basis at their gorgeous, well preserved, 500-year-old historical farmhouse in Bishop’s Stortford.

The ideal housekeeper will be available to start in January 2026,  bringing a wealth of private housekeeping experience to the family home. This lovely role would suit someone who takes great pride in their work and is dedicated with a friendly and proactive attitude. They will need to genuinely love animals too, especially dogs as they will be required to walk the family's two very friendly dogs each day as part of the role.  The housekeeper will also be required to cook therefore someone who enjoys cooking and baking would be best suited. 

Accommodation is available on the farmhouse grounds. Live-in couples considered. Their is a gorgeous 1 bedroom, modern and cosy flat opposite the main farmhouse. 

Key responsibilities:

• Housework for a 6-bedroom family home with separate living space, entertainment area, gym and cinema
• Assist with walking the family's 2 dogs and feeding their 2 cats.  
• Work alongside a weekly cleaner
• Take care of weekly bed changing
• All laundry duties including washing and ironing 
• Generally keeping on top of the house, making sure it is neat, tidy and well organised
• Support family with staple mid-week cooking
• Lend a hand with deliveries, messages and ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the day
• Housesitting when family are away on holidays

• Positive, warm presence and a delight to be around
• Trustworthy, reliable and family orientated
• Previous private housekeeping experience essential 
• Hands on approach and willing to go above and beyond
• Animal friendly is essential
• Current DBS
• Driving License
• Looking to live in and become a highly valued and trusted member of the family on a long term basis.  

What you will be offered:

• Competitive salary
• Lovely 1 bed accommodation opposite the main farmhouse (modern and cosy)
• Weekly hours 25- 30
• Daily hours 8 am – 11 am, 3 pm – 6 pm (preferred)
• Days ideally Tuesday – Saturday with some flexibility for the right housekeeper. Could be Monday – Friday if preferred and therefore open to discussion
• Chance to join a lovely, friendly busy family
