A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of Norfolk’s oldest and most historic estates—an impressive 7,000-acre property with deep heritage, a significant residential portfolio, and a highly respected reputation. This is a truly exceptional working environment: beautiful, peaceful, and professionally run.

The estate is now seeking a dedicated Estate Property Manager to support the ongoing management of approximately 50 residential properties, extensive grounds, and a wide range of estate operations. This role reports directly to the Estate’s leadership team and involves close collaboration with the maintenance department, external contractors, and estate personnel.

While experience is important, the estate is open to candidates with 3–4 years’ experience (minimum) in a similar role who show strong potential, ambition, and the ability to grow. This could be a wonderful progression opportunity for a motivated, hands-on individual who is keen to build their career on a prestigious private estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day-to-day property management across the estate’s residential portfolio
  • Coordinating and monitoring renovations, repairs, and maintenance works
  • Preparing written reports, obtaining quotes, and presenting accurate information for decision-making
  • Working closely with the in-house maintenance team and external contractors
  • Managing tenants professionally, addressing issues promptly and diplomatically
  • Ensuring properties are maintained to high standards and timelines are met
  • Supporting development of diversified land and property-based income streams
  • Balancing the needs of a private owner with commercial considerations
  • Assisting with elements of project management and compliance
  • Playing a vital role within a team of 3–5 dedicated estate staff

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 3–4 years’ experience in property, estate, or facilities management
  • Relevant qualifications preferred and experience in Estate Property Management with a proven track record in actively managing a rural property portfolio, building project management, development of diversified land and property- based income streams.
  • Competent manager
  • Strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills
  • Excellent etiquette, professionalism, and the ability to carry oneself well
  • A trustworthy, loyal individual with high personal integrity
  • Hands-on approach with strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to read, manage, and organise paperwork with accuracy and confidence
  • A true team player who enjoys working collaboratively
  • Someone flexible, able to support occasional weekend requirements with days off in lieu
  • Interest or knowledge of renewable energy would be a welcome bonus

About the Estate Environment

  • One of the most historic estates in Norfolk
  • Large shooting estate with deep heritage and long-standing traditions
  • Formal environment when the family is in residence (approx. 3 months per year)
  • More informal environment when the principals are away
  • No animals on the estate
  • Beautiful surroundings and a proud sense of history

Package & Details

·       5 days per week, typically 8:00am – 4:30pm

  • 45-hour week
  • 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • No accommodation provided at this stage

This role would suit an experienced Estate Property Manager or potentially a Property Maintenance Manager ready to step up and hit the ground running. It offers stability, career progression, a superb professional environment, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a remarkable Norfolk estate.

If this sounds like the perfect next step for you, we would be delighted to hear from you.
