An established, independent Rural Land, Property and Farming Advisory Firm with offices in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds are looking for a Rural Business Advisor to play a key role within their successful team working with a wide variety of farming businesses across East Anglia.

The Rural Business Advisor will be a seasoned professional with deep experience in farm management and rural consultancy and a passion for delivering strategic solutions to help agricultural businesses thrive. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience. They will be commercially minded and resilient, deliver high-quality strategic advice, build strong relationships, and support clients through both opportunities and challenges in a rapidly evolving sector.

 Key Responsibilities and Involvement:

  • Farm Business Appraisals and strategic business reviews
  • Advising on, establishing and optimising Farming Structure
  • Identifying, assessing and managing Diversification Projects
  • Preparing and submitting Subsidy and Rural Grant Scheme applications and claims
  • Advising on and managing Environmental Schemes, including both public and private funding streams
  • Monitoring and providing advice in relation to rural business performance, including financial analysis and benchmarking
  • Preparing and managing Farming Tenders, including Contract Farming and Share Farming Agreements
  • Producing clear and accurate Financial Reports, budgets, cashflows and financial analyses
  • Managing ongoing Contract Farming and Share Farming Agreements
  • Providing support to the wider Land Agency team on cross-disciplinary matters
  • Advising on Carbon and Biodiversity opportunities and emerging markets


Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within farm management and rural consultancy
  • Excellent communication and client management
