Temporary, Full Time experienced Housekeeper required for large country property located in a beautiful part of Berkshire, within walking distance of amenities.

This is a full time position - 40 hours a week, where the day will usually start at 8am with earlier starts being necessary on occasions. Weekends will be worked on a rota basis with other senior housekeepers.

A competitive salary will be offered with excellent benefits, such as 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

The Housekeeper will be required to cover maternity leave on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This position requires someone with exceptionally high standards, who can manage a team of housekeepers and cleaners to ensure the property is always immaculate and beautifully presented for the family and their guests.

The ideal person will have previously worked within a private household, a stately home or possibly an exceptionally luxurious hotel where their management skills can be transferred.

The Position will include the following but not be limited to:

  • Leading a large team, organising, guiding and ensuring the highest standards at all times
  • Coordinating duties such as linen changing and laundry service
  • Deploying members of the team for specialist duties, such as care of antiques, furnishings and fabrics
  • Making sure that Health and Safety and environmental guidelines are adhered to and procedures are in place for effective supervision and performance management of all staff.
  • Administrative duties in relation to housekeeping equipment, supplies and consumables, with cost efficiency in mind.
  • Reporting any problems and maintenance issues to the appropriate department to resolve the situation as swiftly as possible
  • Assisting with events and at busy times when the family have guests

  • Reliable, trustworthy with an excellent work ethic
  • A natural leader with proven planning, organisational and people management skills
  • Approachable with the ability to guide and train team members
  • Experienced with housekeeping management and delivering the highest standards of service
  • Aware of legislative requirements and able to adhere to them
  • Polite, personable with a 'can do' attitude and the ability to be flexible at times
  • Passionate about hospitality and keen to promote the highest levels of service
  • Happy to assist at events outside of the normal duties of the day.
