Operations Manager

Looking for a solutions driven individual to lead, motivate, structure and inspire the management teams of both the on-site Free Range laying hen egg production and the Lion and RSPCA Assured egg packing facility. 

Nestled in the heart of East Anglia, this thriving family-run business with firm farming roots has been proudly operating for over 100 years across four generations. With a core focus on the production of high quality, free-range eggs from their own farms and other experienced local producers, the business has grown into a leading supplier of free-range eggs to Tesco, Asda, and the East of England Co-op and a range of premium retail and food service partner outlets.

As the business enters its next exciting chapter, they are seeking an exceptional solutions driven Operations Manager to take the reins of day-to-day management. This is a rare opportunity for a proven leader in Operational Management to step into a pivotal role driving performance, shaping the team, allowing the owner to focus on customer relations and business development. 

The Role

The Operations Manager will be the driving force behind the smooth and successful running of the varied farm enterprises with a core focus on the free range egg laying production and the Lion / RSPCA Assured egg packing facility. Overseeing management and a team of up to members, they will ensure that daily operations remain proactive, efficient and profitable. Having full profit and loss responsibility for operations, the successful individual will have the ability to strategically plan and drive commercial improvements. With no two days the same, the successful candidate must possess the agility of mind to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, balancing immediate priorities with long-term planning.

Hours: 07.00 - 3.30/4 

Contracted 45 hours a week plus overtime as and when necessary 

Key responsibilities include:

•  Leading, motivating, and managing a high-performing team of 30.
• Conducting appraisals, handling HR matters, and supporting professional growth.
• Taking full responsibility and accountability for operations.
• Implementing seamless systems and processes that enhance and support a consistent performance.
• Driving problem-solving, strategic thinking, and prioritisation across all aspects of the business.
• Full profit and loss accountability
• Running the logistics of a small fleet of vehicles 

The Person

The farm is seeking an energetic, ambitious, resilient, and driven Operations Manager who shares their vision for growth and excellence.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Experienced in managing teams of 25+ with a proven track record of leadership and success.
• Commercial, strategic and solutions-focused
• A confident leader, able to inspire, motivate, and manage their team effectively.
• Experienced in egg production and packing operational management (a bonus but not essential).
• A strong communicator with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Passionate, reliable, and performance-driven, with a can-do attitude.
• Hands-on, accountable, and happy to do what is needed to get the job done.
