Couple - Housekeeper & Groundskeeper with accommodation

A friendly and private family are seeking an experienced, reliable, and conscientious couple to manage and care for their rural home and grounds in the beautiful parish of St Peter, Guernsey.

This is a unique live-in opportunity offering full-time employment with a degree of flexibility. When they are away, the couple will take full responsibility for the smooth running and upkeep of the property. They have five dogs who are typically only in residence when they are at home.

We are looking for a couple with a positive, “can-do” attitude, strong organisational and communication skills, and ideally previous experience working within a private household.

The Roles:

Housekeeper & General Assistant
(Approximately 2 days indoors, 3 days assisting outdoors)

Key responsibilities include:

• Full housekeeping duties for a 6-bedroom home, including cleaning and interior windows
• Laundry management (bed linen, towels, and general laundry where possible)
• Occasional cooking for family members and guests
• Acting as first point of contact for suppliers and deliveries
• Basic administrative tasks (email communication essential; broader computer skills beneficial)
• Collection of supplies and occasional transport duties
• Light gardening duties such as weeding, tidying, and pruning (training can be provided)
• Assisting the Groundskeeper as needed
• Dog sitting and general all-round support

Groundskeeper & Estate Maintenance
(Full-time)

You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the grounds and general upkeep of the property and surrounding grassland.

Essential skills and experience:

• Confident tractor driving (essential)
• Telehandler experience (advantageous)
• Competence with both mechanical and manual gardening tools (incl chainsaw)

Regular duties include:

• Lawn mowing using tractor mowers
• Manual maintenance of grassed and farmed areas
• Weeding, hedge cutting, tree care, and orchard maintenance (incl spray certs)

Additional duties (as required):

• Gutter clearing and exterior building cleaning, including high-level glazing where possible
• Fence maintenance and repair (stock and post-and-rail)
• Maintaining tidy and organised tool sheds and storage areas
• Property and pet sitting
