Housesitter / Pet Care

We are looking for someone reliable to assist three branches of one family living in Laxfield, Braintree and South Suffolk. We require an employee who will work in each of the three locations but the ideal candidate will be closer to Laxfield as this is where most of the work will take place. 

The role involves house sitting for holiday cover, some work with horses as well as dog walking. The role will involve a regular overnight stay of one or two nights each week at Laxfield. 

The successful applicant will be a full-time employee (and paid as such) although by its nature the work entails periods of house sitting or other work interspersed with days where no work is required. 

The role would only suit someone with a full driving licence with their own transport and travel expenses will be paid. There could possibly be a car available, but this will be discussed.

House sitting will entail, amongst other things:

• Care and occasional mucking out of horses/ponies
• Care of cats and chickens
• Dog care with regular walking and vet trips if required
• All 3 houses have cleaners so no housework required other than keeping the houses tidy

Periods when house sitting required:

• Weekends - these will be booked with plenty of notice
• Longer periods to cover holidays again booked well in advance

The Person:

• Reliable
• Trustworthy
• Communicative
• A genuine lover of dogs and horses with good knowledge
• Will be able to provide fully checkable references
• Will have an in date DBS or be happy to apply for one

The successful person will receive a generous annual salary as well as 28 days holiday ( inc bank holidays)
