Senior Operations Manager with exceptional and proven experience within the hospitality sector required to take full ownership of the day‑to‑day running of one of Norfolk's most tranquil and purpose‑driven wellness retreats. Set in acres of countryside, this is a place where calm, quality and guest experience matter,  and where an experienced Operations Manager can make a significant impact.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, leads with clarity and professionalism, and knows how to keep a multi‑faceted site running smoothly day after day.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will ensure seamless operations across accommodation, café, guest services, retreats and events. You will be the key link between the on‑site team and the General Manager, responsible for maintaining high standards, coordinating people and processes, and ensuring the business runs efficiently without constant senior oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the smooth running of the site each day
  • Lead operations during weekends and peak periods
  • Ensure all departments are aligned and functioning effectively
  • Act as the escalation point for operational issues and guest concerns
  • Lead and support department heads
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and rota planning
  • Maintain a positive, motivated team culture
  • Coordinate resources to meet business needs

Guest Experience

  • Uphold exceptional guest service standards
  • Manage and resolve guest complaints with professionalism
  • Monitor feedback and drive continuous improvement

Café & Food Operations

  • Work closely with kitchen and café teams
  • Align menus with operational capacity and guest flow
  • Support planning for busy periods and retreat catering

Retreat & Event Delivery

  • Ensure retreats and events run seamlessly
  • Coordinate between internal teams and retreat leaders
  • Resolve operational challenges calmly and efficiently

Standards, Systems & Reporting

  • Implement clear processes and operational standards
  • Identify inefficiencies and improve them
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety
  • Provide regular updates to the General Manager and flag risks early

 The ideal person:

Will have a hospitality background and be confident running a complex site with multiple moving parts, bringing structure, calm and clarity, leading with a grounded, personable approach.

Key experience / attributes:

  • Strong operational management experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams in fast‑paced environments
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Calm, confident decision‑making
  • Clear, warm communication
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

The Operations Manager will ensure:

  • Smooth, confident weekend operations
  • Clear team structure and reduced firefighting
  • Consistently high guest satisfaction
  • Seamless retreat and event delivery
  • A General Manager freed to focus on strategic priorities

Working Pattern

Full‑time role including weekends and peak periods, with flexibility based on business demand.

This is a long‑term opportunity and the successful person will work in a stunning rural environment, leading a team who care about what they do, and contributing to a place with real purpose.

If you are a high‑performing Operations Manager and feel you can make a significant difference within this company we would love to hear from you.
