Outstanding Maintenance Assistant required to join a dedicated on‑site team at a truly beautiful countryside, wellness retreat venue in West Norfolk.

This is a hands‑on, practical role for someone who genuinely enjoys fixing, maintaining and improving things,  the kind of person who notices when something isn’t quite so and takes pride in putting it right.

Working alongside an experienced and highly respected Maintenance Manager, you will help care for a unique site that includes log cabins, guest accommodation, a swimming pool, café, pathways, landscaped grounds and multiple ongoing projects. There is always something to mend, enhance, improve or build, and your skills will be used every day.

The Role

This role suits someone who likes variety, responsibility and visible results from their work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Day‑to‑day maintenance, repairs and upkeep across buildings, cabins and facilities
  • Supporting the operation and maintenance of site infrastructure, including pool and café areas
  • Using tools and machinery confidently and safely
  • Assisting with refurbishments, installations and new projects
  • Maintaining pathways, outdoor areas and guest‑facing spaces
  • Supporting event and booking set‑ups and breakdowns
  • Ensuring everything looks, feels and functions at a high standard for guests
  • Working safely, following health & safety procedures at all times
  • Being a reliable, proactive presence within the wider team

There is no team management responsibility, but this is a role where initiative, care and pride in workmanship really matter.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Hard‑working, motivated and dependable
  • Extremely practical and solutions‑focused
  • Comfortable turning their hand to a wide range of tasks
  • A genuine team player with a positive attitude
  • Used to working in active, outdoor and guest‑facing environments

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in maintenance, estates, facilities, construction or a similar practical role
  • Basic electrical and/or plumbing knowledge (highly desirable)
  • Confidence using tools, equipment and machinery
  • A clean UK driving licence
  • Strong references demonstrating reliability, skill and work ethic

The working environment:

  • A beautiful, well‑loved working environment you can feel proud of
  • Constant variety, no repetitive days or same routines
  • A supportive, respectful team that values good work
  • Ongoing projects and improvements to get stuck into
  • A full‑time, long‑term opportunity with stability and purpose

This is a role for someone who wants to be busy, useful and trusted, working with their hands and seeing the difference their effort makes every single day.

Practical Details

  • Hours: 4 -5 days over 7 (including weekends)
  • Pay: Hourly, all hours worked are paid
  • Start: As soon as possible
  • Contract: Long‑term , full time, employed
  • If you are a skilled, practical maintenance operative who takes pride in keeping things running beautifully, we would love to hear from you.
