An outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced rider with a proven track record of breaking, producing and riding away young horses.

Based on the outskirts of Newmarket, this role offers the chance to work with an exceptional and varied string, including top class racehorses connected to world leading trainers, alongside quality sports horses competing internationally, as well as carefully produced youngstock being brought through the ranks.

This is a hands-on, varied position where the successful candidate will be trusted to ride across all aspects, from breaking in, riding away, schooling, exercising racehorses to producing young sports horses correctly from the earliest stages, with the opportunity to play a key role in their progression over time.

Hours:

  • 5.5 day week, with every Saturday afternoon and Sunday off 
  • 8 hour day
  • 6.30am-3pm with a break during the day

The ideal person will:

  • Have solid, proven experience breaking and riding away youngstock (racehorses and sports horses)
  • Be a capable, balanced and effective rider across different types
  • Be confident with sharp, athletic and young horses
  • Have a strong work ethic and take real pride in their work
  • Be reliable, practical and enjoy being part of a busy yard
  • Previous experience riding race horses is not essential

The role is full time with a competitive weekly salary. Accommodation is not available on site at this stage, however support can be offered to source something locally. There is also the option to bring a horse.
