A super opportunity has arisen for a passionate, wholesome, private home cook to join a warm, down-to-earth family of four as they begin an exciting new chapter, relocating to their stunning seven-bedroom estate in Guernsey this summer. 

Set within seventeen acres of beautiful grounds, close to St Peter Port with a real community feel. 

About the Family:

This is a wonderfully grounded, busy, and happy family who place great value on the people around them. Loyalty matters deeply to them- their current household staff across their other properties have been with them for over twelve years, which speaks volumes about the warmth and respect with which they treat those who work alongside them. 

The successful candidate will be a trusted and highly valued member of their household from day one. 

The Role:

The family are looking for someone who genuinely loves food and takes real pride in cooking / baking and creating beautiful, fresh, wholesome, healthy, nutritious meals from scratch. The person does not need previous formal training or Michelin-stars to be considered but experience in a similar role is essential. 

You will take ownership of weekly menu planning, keeping the fridge beautifully stocked, and ensure the family always come home to something wonderful. On some occasions, that might mean a ready-to-pop-in-the-oven meal waiting for them, simple, thoughtful, and made with love. 

One of the most exciting aspects of this role is the opportunity to inspire the family's two teenage children in the kitchen. The family would love someone who can gently draw them away from processed food and ignite a real passion for cooking, baking, and creating. Whether it's making up homemade treats, experimenting with flavours, or simply teaching them where good food comes from, this is your chance to make a lasting difference. 

Accommodation:

 A stunning, newly refurbished, spacious one-bedroom flat is available for the right candidate, complete with its own kitchen, bathroom, and sitting room, all set within the beautiful estate. Partners, children, and pets are all very welcome. The family want the right fit above everything else, and they understand that home is important. 

Please note: the family have two lovely, rescued cats, so candidates must be comfortable around them.

• Someone organised, proactive, and menu-savvy

• Someone willing to go the extra mile, and who does so with a smile and genuinely loves creating a warm, family orientated kitchen environment.
• Experience cooking for a private family in a similar setting with an abundance of passion, skill, and heart matter most here 

The Package:

• Full-time, 
• Monday to Friday (no weekends) 
• £38,000-45,000 per annum DOE
• Beautiful live-in accommodation available (live-out also considered) 
• A long-term position with a family who will truly appreciate you
