Gardener

Part Time Experienced Gardener required for private country house located in Layer Breton near Colchester Essex.

We are looking for someone who can work 3 full days a week throughout the year to manage these lovely, established 4.5 acre gardens.

The Position:- 

• Lawn Care - although there is a groundsperson
• Maintaining the small hedges around the garden
• Maintaining the formal borders-weeding, pruning, cutting back etc
• Keeping the cutting garden refreshed to produce flowers for the house and a good display
• Vegetable and fruit growing
• Looking after the small greenhouse plants.

The Person:- 

• Reliable, punctual with a really good work ethic
• Will have a good horticultural background and excellent plant identification skills
• Must be happy to work alone and use own initiative
• Will have high standards and take a pride in making sure the gardens look their best at all times
• Polite and easy to get along with
• Experienced with the use and maintenance of large garden machinery including ride on mower, strimmers etc
• Car driver with own transport

A good hourly rate will be offered to the successful person who can provide excellent references.
