A warm, informal family is seeking an experienced and professional rota nanny to join their household and care for their two young children. The role will initially focus on their 2-year-old son who starts pre-school in September, before gradually incorporating care of their daughter (born February 2026) as she transitions from maternity nurse support at around 7/8 months of age.

This is a long-term opportunity for a career nanny looking to become part of a calm, respectful and collaborative household. You'll work alongside involved parents and an established and really lovely rota nanny, ensuring consistency and continuity while enjoying genuine professional trust, autonomy and support.

The family leads a relaxed, outdoors-oriented lifestyle and values curiosity, creativity and real-world learning. They are currently a screen-free household and encourage plenty of outdoor adventures, imaginative play, books, music, sensory experiences and hands-on exploration. The children are given the space to develop independence and confidence within clear, age-appropriate boundaries.

The ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy the early years, bringing warmth, energy and expertise to support the children's development through every stage -from infancy through toddlerhood and beyond. This is a rewarding role for someone who loves being actively involved in children's lives and takes pride in helping them thrive.

The role combines shared care and sole charge responsibilities, making it well suited to a nanny who is adaptable, emotionally intelligent and enjoys working in partnership with parents. The family values initiative and professionalism and hopes to find someone who can seamlessly become a trusted part of family life while facilitating family time and stepping back where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Providing a mixture of shared care and sole charge care during rota periods, including overnight responsibility.
  • Supporting both children through key developmental milestones and adapting to their evolving needs.
  • Managing routines including sleep, feeding, weaning, potty training and transitions into nursery and beyond.
  • Planning engaging, age-appropriate activities that support learning, creativity and development.
  • Encouraging an active, low-screen lifestyle with plenty of outdoor play and exploration.
  • Preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children.
  • Organising extracurricular activities, outings and social opportunities.
  • Undertaking nursery duties and maintaining well-organised children's spaces.

Ideal candidate:

  • Warm, positive and genuinely passionate about working with young children.
  • Experienced with both infants and toddlers.
  • Collaborative and confident working closely with parents and a co-nanny.
  • Creative and engaging, with plenty of ideas for play, learning and enrichment.
  • Calm, patient and attuned to children's emotional and developmental needs.
  • Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable supporting the family's health-conscious, low-screen approach.
  • Happy to travel occasionally with the family.

Requirements:

  • Native or fluent English speaker.
  • Minimum 10 years' professional nanny experience, including experience as a live-in rota nanny.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a comparable rota position.
  • Strong knowledge of child development from infancy onwards.
  • Proven experience caring for young children within private households.
  • Confident managing all aspects of baby and toddler care.
  • Driver preferred, though not essential.
  • Comfortable around pets (dog and cat).

This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional nanny seeking a long-term position with kind, respectful employers who value expertise, encourage autonomy and are committed to creating a happy, nurturing environment for their children. The successful candidate will be welcomed as an important and trusted member of the team, with the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the children's early years.

The finer detail:

  • Based in Hampstead
  • 1 week on/off with a Wednesday handover.
  • 24h responsibility but effectively “on call” overnight. Own bedroom with en-suite.
  • Salary £75,000per annum plus depending on the person and their experience
