An experienced and professional Live-in Housekeeper / Cook is required to manage the day to day running of a large private family home in South County, Dublin. This will be a long-term position and requires excellent attention to detail. The property comprises of 6 bedrooms, is beautifully maintained and set in stunning grounds. The family in residence lead busy professional and personal lives, and have several long-standing members of staff who have worked with them for many years. They truly value their employees, the current Housekeeper has been there for 14 years. 

The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and daily contribution to the smooth running of the home, maintaining the exceptional standards and ensuring everything is taken care of, as well as being passionate about delivering healthy organic home cooking. The Housekeeper / Cook will be working alongside a second staff member who will assist on a daily basis. 

Live-in accommodation is provided, comprising a private cottage with private bedroom, sitting room, bathroom, and kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full housekeeping to include cleaning, laundry, and ironing.
  • Preparing fresh meals for the family -good, plain home cooking is essential
  • Managing household supplies and grocery shopping.
  • Monitoring the condition of the property and reporting maintenance issues to the family office.
  • Liaising with service providers when necessary.
  • Ensuring that the home is organised, well-presented and running efficiently.
  • Providing occasion assistance with household errands and other day to day task as needed
  • Caring for the family pets

Required Experience

  • Previous experience working in a private household or similar environment.
  • Excelling housekeeping and cooking skills
  • Discreet & trustworthy approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • A full, clean driving licence is essential.

Hours

  • Approximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility around the household's schedule.
  • Wednesday afternoon off, or Saturday morning off, as required.
  • Sunday off

Salary

  • €46,000 - 52,000
